Jim Balloun

Jim Balloun, has served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Acuity Brands, Inc. He is also the former Chairman, President, and Chief Executive Officer of National Service Industries (NSI). For 31 years, Mr. Balloun was a senior executive with McKinsey & Company, Inc. Mr. Balloun also served with the U.S. Navy Civil Engineering Corps. He is a past Chairman of The Commerce Club and a past Chairman of the Trustees of the Woodruff Arts Center. Mr. Balloun received an MBA from the Harvard Business School, where he was a Baker Scholar and holds a BS degree in industrial engineering from Iowa State University.

Carter Burton

W. Carter Burton is a co-founder of Catalyst Partners, an Atlanta-based private equity fund and serves as Vice President of GE Healthcare Financial Services, followed by various manufacturing and sourcing roles for GE Energy. Mr. Burton also serves as an Advisory Board Member for several non-profit groups throughout Georgia. Mr. Burton earned his MBA from Northwestern’s Kellogg’s School of Management and a Master of Engineering Management (MEM) from Northwestern’s McCormick School. Mr. Burton also earned a BS degree in Chemical Engineering from Tennessee Technological University.

Kell Canty

Kell Canty is an entrepreneur, consultant and investor in start-up technology companies. He was co-founder and senior executive with Onyx Technologies (sold to HNCS Software). At Onyx, Mr. Canty also served as Director of Professional Services and Director of ASP technologies. Before Onyx, Mr. Canty started a technology consulting company and previously served as Vice President of Disc Access Products Group. Mr. Canty earned a BS in Computer Science from the Georgia Institute of Technology.

Peter Hoeve

Mr. Hoeve serves as the Chief Technology Officer for Rent Bureau, a state-of-the-art technology company focused on the residential housing market. Mr. Hoeve was co-founder of Onyx Technologies, a one-of-a-kind, real time predictive customer acquisition, retention and credit scoring service for the cellular industry. He led the creation of leading edge solutions for storage and access methodologies of large scale databases, and robust automation and representation of data. Mr. Hoeve was also a founder of SECON Group, a consultancy focusing on client activations and credit scoring for multiple industries. Mr. Hoeve holds a BS in Computer Science from the University of Texas at Austin.

Rick Jackson

Rick Jackson is President & CEO of Jackson Healthcare Solutions. Mr. Jackson enjoys a profound understanding of financing and the needs of the startup businesses. He is an accomplished financier, entrepreneur and executive. A true pioneer in multiple industries, Mr. Jackson has started more than 20 companies in healthcare and information technology, 12 of which were number one in their sector. He has taken two companies public, facilitated multiple mergers and acquisitions, and over the past ten years, has raised over $500 million in financing. He has served on the boards of and worked as an advisor for numerous startups in the technology and internet sectors.

Shane Jackson

Mr. Jackson has served as vice president of Finance with Jackson Healthcare Solutions since 2003, where he is responsible for overseeing all investments, mergers, acquisitions and divestitures. During that time he also served as President of Patient Placement Systems. In 2000, Mr. Jackson co-founded and acted as president of NextStart Capital, providing financial advisory and M&A services. At NextStart, he oversaw and directed numerous fundraising and acquisition transactions. In 2005, he served as advisor to the seller in the largest healthcare staffing transaction in history. Mr. Jackson earned an MBA, with honors, from Emory University and holds a BBA from Harding University.

Sid Kirschner

Sid Kirschner was the former Chairman & CEO of Northside Hospital. Currently Mr. Kirschner serves as headmaster of the Davis Academy. He has also served as Chairman President & CEO of National Service Industries (NSI). In addition he has served as President of General Dynamics. Mr. Kirschner is on the board of directors for many leading for-profit and non-profit organizations. Mr. Kirschner holds a BS degree in Engineering from the New Mexico School of Mines.

Ross Mason

Mr. Mason is the founder of HINRI Ventures, a healthcare nanotechnology venture capital firm. Ross has been involved in international private banking with Morgan Stanley. He was appointed by Governor Sonny Perdue to serve as Vice-Chairman of the Georgia Department of Community Health. Mr. Mason volunteers with humanitarian groups such as the Georgia Free Clinic Network, the Mercy Board and the Samaritan's Board, which he founded. In addition he was a healthcare volunteer in an AIDS hospital in Zambia. Mr. Mason earned his undergraduate degree in industrial and systems engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology and his MBA from the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School.

Dr. Francois Sainfort

Professor Sainfort joined the School of Industrial and Systems Engineering at Georgia Tech in Fall 2000 as a Professor and Director of the Health Systems Research Center. Prior to his arrival at Georgia Tech, he was a Professor of Industrial Engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Madison with joint appointments in the Departments of Preventive Medicine and Biomedical Engineering. During that time, he was also Center Director for the Center for Quality and Productivity Improvement and Program Director for the Health Systems Engineering graduate program. Professor Sainfort's research interests focus on consumer and medical decision making, health care informatics, quality assessment and management in health care, and evaluation of medical technologies. Professor Sainfort has published over 75 refereed publications that have appeared in health care journals. He routinely serves on national research panels in the United States, Canada , and France. Professor Sainfort is an expert consultant for the health care industry. Dr. Sainfort holds his diploma, D.E.A and doctoral degrees in Industrial Engineering from Ecole Centrale in Paris, France.

H. Darrell Young

Darrell Young enjoys over thirty years of broad based management experience serving customers, developing employees, and enhancing shareholder value in both public and private companies. He is an active author, investor and advisor. Mr. Young has served as President & CEO of HBO & Company - a $220M public corporation serving the information systems needs of the health care industry. Mr. Young has also founded several companies in the healthcare and telecommunications industries. Mr. Young serves as an advisor or director to several for-profit and non-profit entities. Mr. Young earned a B.A. in Industrial Psychology from the University of Georgia.
